This time of year I find myself missing the warmth of summer, and dreaming of those days when I was meeting clients at 7pm to start their sessions instead of 3pm. Winter is honestly one of my favorite seasons, but it can be a challenging time to run a photography business. This time of year in Sacramento is often cold and dreary, without the added bonus of snow. Although it's not a long trek to find snow (about 2 hours), it's often more than my clients want to drive when they're accustomed to meeting me in a more central location.

Thinking of the summertime heat and the longer days, the theme for this week was actually perfect. My session last weekend was held on a stormy day. The morning was clear, but as it got closer to the time of our session, the clouds quickly started to roll in, and I worried we may have missed our opportunity. The rain held off until the end of the session, though, and I spent the time trying to cling to the last warm tones of autumn. My little shiba inu model was the perfect complement with his sesame coat.

Also - how stinking cute is his matching fox collar?
